I look at want ads every day
A job is so hard to find
They want me to work with people
But that's not what I had in mind!

The jobs that they have listed
Are not for folks like me
I don't mind working longer hours
Say from 12:00 to 3:00

I had a job from 1:00 to 5:00
But it took me hours to unwind
And they didn't have a coffee break
That's not what I had in mind

I want a job with prestige
I've already paid my dues
I refuse to kiss anyone's feet
Even though they're wearing shoes

So I'll just keep on huntin'
For I'm in a financial bind
But most jobs have what they call a boss
But that's not what I had in mind!
